HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN HIPERTENSI DENGAN TINGKAT KEPATUHAN DIET PASIEN HIPERTENSI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS MENGWI II KABUPATEN BADUNG

Hypertension is a condition in which a person's blood pressure is above normal when the results of measurements of systolic blood pressure ? 140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ? 90 mmHg. Diet is the setting of foods with the intention of maintaining the health and nutritional status and healing hipertension. This study want to know the correlation between knowledge and dietary compliance level of patients with hypertension. A correlation description with cross sectional method was applied in this study. Respondents who became the subject of the study were patients with hypertension visiting the health center II Mengwi, Badung Regency. Consecutive sampling was used in collecting sample and obtained a total sample of 121 respondents. Questionnaire was used in collecting the data through face validity testing. There was a strong significant relationship (r = 0,657, p < 0,001) between the level of knowledge and dietary compliance level of patients with hypertension in Puskesmas II Mengwi, Badung. It is expected for hypertensive patients to remain adherent to the diet that has been suggested by a doctor or health worker in order to keep blood pressure within normal limits.
